Winter Experiences in Trevelin: Nature, Culture, and Snow

Share

The ancestral community of Sierra Colorada, located in the municipality of Trevelin, is one of the highlights of the 2024 winter season in the Chubut mountain range. With an abundant amount of high-quality snow, this area has become an increasingly popular destination. Since the start of the season on June 19, numerous families have arrived daily to enjoy this wonderful place, which also has a deep cultural and ancestral heritage.

Notable activities in Sierra Colorada include sledding, horseback riding combined with skiing or snowboarding, snowshoeing, trails, artisan crafts, and ancestral gastronomy. The offerings are designed to provide a family-friendly and accessible experience in the snow and mountains.

Sierra Colorada also offers opportunities for more technical activities such as Mountain Skiing, Cross-Country Skiing, and Snow Kite. The “Sierra Colorada Experience” perfectly complements the offerings at the nearby CAM La Hoya in Esquel, located just 23 km away. Both proposals, although different, share the common denominator of enjoying the snow.

This season has seen an increase in the quantity and quality of services available to visitors, promoting sustainable tourism development and the participation of young community members. Sierra Colorada presents itself as an excellent option for families and winter sports enthusiasts, offering quality and safety services in a stunning natural setting.
